Alex

We wish Alex could do the whole three year trip with us but he has moved away from home to pursue his career with the Canadian Coast Guard. Our plans include us sailing up the east coast of North America to Nova Scotia in the spring of 2024 so that we can be there when he graduates as a Marine Engineer Officer!

Note from Alex:

Ever since I started sailing at the age of five, I have heard numerous times of the “Big Trip”. Over the years there were many times when the planning got underway but the timing just was not right. When my parents said they were finally doing it I was a little skeptical that it would come to be, but now they are just weeks away from departure! For the next year I will be finishing my degree in nautical sciences at the Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney, NS. Unfortunately, this means that I will not be able to join them for the full three years but once I am finished my program, I do plan on hopping on with them for a couple of their journeys! I am very proud to have such an adventurous family and I’m very excited to hear about all their stories as they go along!

Our first little birdie has left the nest. Alex has spread his wings and moved away to attend college. We will look forward to having him onboard to visit and travel with us as much as he can!
