A typical day on Starship

We are currently in George Town, Bahamas. Today was a beautiful, hot day but the humidity was very high. On days like today we move slowly. In the coming days, we plan to sail south to the Ragged Islands – a crescent shaped group of islands that are part of the Jumentos Cays in the southern Bahamas. We have talked to many curisers who say the Ragged Islands are really lovely so I am super keen to check it out. Apparently the spear fishing is excellent there too! By the third week of May, we need to be back here in George Town to get ready to fly to Nova Scotia for Alex’s graduation from the Canadian Coast Guard College. We are extremely excited for that trip!

In the meantime, I have been working on my next few blogs. There is so much to write about from the last several weeks!

  • meeting amazing new friends on the boats Freya, Prima and Mischief Managed
  • seeing sailing friends from back home
  • getting our groove on at an evening church service in Black Point
  • weathering a big storm at anchor in Farmer’s Cay
  • attending a dance party on a 80 foot yacht – what a night!πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί
  • I was treated to a spa day 😍
  • success spear fishing for various fish and lobster
  • scuba diving and snorkelling adventures 🀿
  • hiking on beautiful Lee Stocking Island
  • arriving at George Town’s Chat N’Chill beach just in time for Jason’s birthday
  • and of course, more beautiful beaches and crystal clear, teal waters…

As I work at putting my writing together, I thought I’d pause and try something a bit different. I created a vlog showing how we got our groceries done yesterday! I expect that over time my video editing talents will improve greatly…until then, I hope you still enjoy what I managed to put together!

Hi guys! Great to hear from you, glad you liked it! We are right now waking up to very thick, stormy air as the humidity has been quite high. Hope this little morning storm system cuts the humidity for us for a bit after. It’s the first rain we’ve seen in weeks. So, just over a month or so and you guys will be gearing up to get your boat in the water for the season. Exciting! 😊
